In this project we were told to solve a world problem. We made a huge class brainstorm list and broke up into groups based on interest. I choose public transportation, so did Wesley Fink, Heston Wilson, and Sarah Ng. Next we decided how we wanted where we wanted to solve this problem and we choose close to home the bay area. We decided the Bay Area needed a transportation update so we each researched a different topic. I researched transportation in Europe. Then we came back together explained our research and settled out the solution of expanding the current Bart system. (Bay Area Rapid Transit)

Engineering Design Cycle:
1) Identify Need - What is the problem that needs to be solved
2) Research Problem - Find information about the problem.
3) Develop Possible Solution (Brainstorm) - Think of solutions that would work. It can be anything.
4) Select the Most Promising Solution - What solution is the most practical.
5) Construct & Prototype - Make your solution a reality.
6) Test and Evaluate Prototype - Test the prototype on the problem.
7) Communicate design - Present your prototype to a person and get feedback.
8) Redesign - Use feedback to make it better.
9) Repeat - If it doesn't work try again.

Reflection:
Overall this was a very time tasking project and was not one of my favorites and showed. The first thing I could improve is being more flexible. During the project I disagreed a lot with fellow group mates on what we should do and did not like to compromise. The second thing I could improve on is helping the group more. I felt during the project I did not do enough to help the group get a better prototype.
During the project I did have good times. One thing I did well was drawing the maps for the extended BART map and I think they really represented what the expansions would look like. Another thing I think I did well was helping the group stay on the time sheet. There was a couple times when the group when would slack off or there would be outside distraction and I helped stop those moments. Overall on the project we did a good job on solving a world problem.
